Here, selected universities and organizations report on how they are dealing with the future skills turn, which future skills will be important in the future and how they are promoting them among their students and employees.
What does the future of (higher) education look like if we ask people from all around the world? This chapter of the “Creating the University of the Future” volume, edited by Ulf-Daniel Ehlers and Laura Eigbrecht, introduces a new theory of change, including relevant Future Skills from participants’ points of view. It is based on a survey that was conducted by the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO IESALC) with nearly 1,200 respondents in almost 100 countries. In this chapter, the authors Eglis Chacón, Emma Harden-Wolfson, Luz Gamarra Caballero, Bosen Lily Liu and Dana Abdrasheva give insights into this survey, into the identified skills and the accelerators that will promote adopting these skills.
