Here, selected universities and organizations report on how they are dealing with the future skills turn, which future skills will be important in the future and how they are promoting them among their students and employees.
Originally an extracurricular network, the World Citizen School at the German University of Tübingen, developed at the Weltethos Institute, has become a holistic learning system. It promotes and supports student engagement and empowers learners to become changemakers – with the shared goal of “social added value”. The chapter “The World Citizen School Model” by Michael Wihlenda, included in the “Creating the University of the Future” volume, edited by Ulf-Daniel Ehlers and Laura Eigbrecht, gives insights into how to create the conditions for social learning and action and, with it, the development of important Future Skills for co-creating future societies.
