Unser Alltag ist bestimmt durch stetigen Wandel in allen Bereichen. Insbesondere durch die fortschreitende Digitalisierung, die auch die Universitäten, Hochschulen und Schulen erreicht, müssen sich die Konzepte der Lehre grundlegend verändern. Das Forschungsprojekt NextSkills befasst sich mit eben diesen neuen Formen der Lehre, versucht allerdings einen weitaus tieferen Ansatz zu finden. Die folgenden Videos befassen sich mit den Ergebnissen, die zeigen, durch welche Kompetenzen die Studierenden auf die zukünftige Arbeitswelt vorbereitet werden können. Diese „Future Skills“ werden hier Schritt für Schritt erläutert und ihre Auswirkungen sowie ihre Bedeutung in verschiedenen Kontexten herausgearbeitet. Dabei befassen wir uns mit den Fragen, die sich vorerst mit der Beschaffenheit jener Future Skills befassen. Außerdem geht es hier um konkrete Punkte, die für die zukünftige Arbeitswelt unbedingt notwendig sein werden – Selbstorganisation beispielsweise ist schon heute eine der wichtigsten Schlüsselqualifikationen, doch wie lässt sie sich in die bereits gefestigten Strukturen der Unternehmen einbetten?

Wir befassen uns auch mit der Frage, ob die klassischen Hochschulen, wie wir sie kennen, in der digitalisierten Welt von morgen überhaupt noch benötigt werden.

Our everyday life is determined by constant change in all areas. Especially due to the ongoing digitalization, which is also reaching universities, colleges and schools, the concepts of teaching must change fundamentally. The research project NextSkills deals with these new forms of teaching, but tries to find a much deeper approach. The following videos deal with the results, which show which skills can be used to prepare students for the future world of work. These „Future Skills“ and their effects as well as their meaning in different contexts are explained step by step. Thereby, we deal with the questions concerning the nature of those Future Skills for the time being. In addition, we will deal with concrete elements that will be essential for the future world of work – self-organisation, for example, is already one of the most important key skills today, but how can it be embedded in the already established structures of companies?

We are also dealing with the question of whether the traditional universities as we know them will still be needed in tomorrow’s digitalised world.

Über die Krise hinaus: Vorbereitungen für die Zukunft der Hochschulbildung

Neben dem Digitalisierungsreflex wirft die Coronakrise für Hochschulen weitere Fragen auf: Mit welchen Zielen und Inhalten bereiten wir junge Menschen auf eine Gesellschaft vor, die immer schneller zu radikalen und disruptiven Änderungen ihrer jeweiligen Systemzustände bereit ist?

Im Forschungsprojekt NextSkills haben wir Modelle und Beschreibungen für 17 zukünftig relevante Fähigkeiten, sogenannte Future Skills, gesammelt.

Beyond the crisis: Preparing for future higher eduction

Today we invite you to think beyond the crisis. We believe strongly that beyond going online there is a further, deeper truth revealing in this crisis which needs attention. It is the question how we can better prepare young people for a society that is increasingly ready for radical and disruptive changes like we see them today – and probably will even more see in the future.

Dies zu verstehen ist einfach, dies in der Hochschulbildung umzusetzen bedeutet ein deutliches Umsteuern! Und für Organisationen ist es DIE Herausforderung der Zukunft – Fluch und Segen zugleich. Selbstorganisation steht den existierenden hierarchischen Strukturen entgegen und ist dennoch unerlässlich für eine Anpassung an immer komplexere Veränderungen.

Self-organisation – Key to Future Skills

Spotify, Mercedes-Benz.io GmbH, Soulbottles – **Self-organization** is in a way THE stage on which all future skills for future graduates play. It is easy to understand this, but to implement this in higher education means a clear change of direction! And for organisations this is THE challenge of the future – curse and blessing at the same time. Self-organization is contrary to existing hierarchical structures and yet it is essential to adapt to ever more complex changes.

Future Skills für die Arbeitswelt von morgen – „New Work – old University“?

Die Arbeitswelt der Zukunft wird von drei grundlegenden „Shifts“ geprägt sein, die die Arbeitskultur grundlegend verändern. Von Hierarchie zu vernetzen Organisationen, von Vorgaben zur Selbstorganisation und vom Wissen zur Kompetenz. Zudem müssen die Generationen der Zukunft die digitale und automatisierte Welt gestalten. Future Skills befassen sich mit den Kompetenzen, die dafür erforderlich sind.

Future Skills for the working world of tomorrow – „New Work – old University“?

The working world of the future will be characterized by three fundamental „shifts“ that will change the work culture. From hierarchy to networking organizations, from specifications to self-organization and from knowledge to competence. In addition, the generations of the future will have to shape the digital and automated world. Future Skills deal with the competencies that will be required to do so.

Stellt Corona die Rolle der Hochschulen in Frage?

In Zeiten des digitalen Wandels und neuen digitalen Möglichkeiten stellt sich die Frage, welche Rolle die Hochschulen als Ort der Wissensvermittlung in Zukunft spielen können. Mit Sicherheit werden wir die Institutionen weiterhin brauchen, doch ihr Profil verändert sich hin zu einer vernetzten Organisation eines lebenslangen Lernpfades.

Does Corona question the function of universities?

In times of digital change and new digital possibilities, the question arises as to which role the universities can play in the future as places of knowledge transfer. We will certainly continue to need the institutions, but their profile is changing towards a networked organisation of a lifelong learning path.

Wie sehen die „Future Universities“ aus?

Bildungsprozesse befinden sich durch vielfältige Treiber, nicht zuletzt eine fortschreitende Digitalisierung, die aktuelle Coronakrise und emergente, neue Faktoren stetig im Wandel (Siehe dazu die „10 Sekunden der Hochschulentwicklung).

Wir entwickeln vier Szenarien für die Hochschule der Zukunft: das Lifelong Learning Szenario, das Personalisierungsszenario, das vernetzte multi-institutionelle Studienszenario und das Future Skill Szenario.

What do “ Future Universities“ look like?

Educational processes are in a constant state of transition due to a variety of drivers, not least progressive digitalization, the current corona crisis and emerging new factors (see the „10 seconds of university development“).

We are developing four scenarios for the university of the future: the lifelong learning scenario, the personalization scenario, the networked multi-institutional study scenario and the future skill scenario.

In unseren Videos zu den Future Skills erklären wir, wie sich die Bildungskonzepte im Allgemeinen verändern und anpassen müssen. Das „NextSkills“-Forschungsprojekt beschäftigt sich mit den neuen Formen und Möglichkeiten der Lehre und vor allem mit den notwendigen Kompetenzen, die die Studierenden für die Arbeitswelt von morgen erlangen müssen. Diese Future Skills werden in unseren Videos erklärt. Die Kernaspekte zeigen wir außerdem in dem Gesamtvideo, das die wichtigsten Punkte erfasst und einen kurzen, aber klaren Überblick über die Future Skills liefert.

The Future Skills Video Series

In our Video Series on Future Skills we explain how educational concepts in general need to change and adapt. The „NextSkills“ research project deals with the new types and possibilities of teaching and, above all, with the skills that students will need to develop for the working world of tomorrow. These Future Skills are explained in our videos. We further present the key aspects in the overall video, which captures the most important points and provides a short but clear overview of the Future Skills.
